Also, stay off the dunes, don't get naked, and stay in the approved boundaries or risk arrest. Just going to the beach on the naval air station requires reading a long list of rules.
The South overflows with signs. Big ones. Little ones. Hand-painted ones. Political ones. College team preferences ones. And, best of all, threatening ones on church marquees. This blog is inspired by those church signs, but won't be limited to them.

We Got It!
Billy's Seafood, one of the local fresh seafood vendors. The shrimp boats unload directly beside it. It doesn't get any fresher!

The First Death.
Only in Fairhope would you get the story of the very first death & burial at the original cemetery, memorialized on a marker for posterity.

I saw this down at the bay today. Love it! I'm sure that there is just as much reason to celebrate this status change as there is when one gets married.

Real Tomatoes.
No one in my immediate family is a tomato connoisseur, which is blasphemy here in the South. However, I hear people who are complaining all the time about the tomatoes offered in the groceries having no taste at all, much less an appropriate flavor of tomato. Hence this sign at the roadside farm stand..... "Tomatoes that taste like Tomatoes!"

Tippy's.
This one was taken while driving by, at a pretty good speed, with virtually no warning. But the photo turned out great, as it includes both the target, Tippy's Tavern, as well as the bus stop sign and the tattoo studio in the background. As you might guess, this isn't in the greatest part of town.......

Sickroom Supplies.
Never in my 40 years on the planet have I encountered a pharmacy with a sign referencing "sickroom supplies." Until yesterday, in old downtown Penscola, FL.

Foreclosure.
I walked past this one today and was quite surprised. Bayfront in the most desirable mile of Fairhope. You can pick it up for just $1.4 million.....
